Vancouver Whitewater Club
For All things Whitewater...
At the Festival
Registration opens on Friday at 5:00 p.m. For those arriving late on Friday night, if registration is closed, please check in at the booth on Saturday morning after 8:00 am.
Only cash will be accepted for payments. No, we do not take CREDITS CARDS OR CHEQUES–sorry!
Dinner will be provided Saturday night and Camping ‘festival style’ is included with your registration. Due to the number of people expected for this event, there will likely be at least two groups of people per campsite. This means sharing a site with your friends or making some new ones so everyone has a comfortable camp spot for the weekend
River runs on the Chilliwack River:
This quick summary of river runs on the Chilliwack River is only an overview and doesn’t replace a guidebook. To avoid incidents, please ask in advance for water levels and hazards at the registration desk and always watch out for wood and other obstacles on the river.
Grades are valid for low and medium water levels only!
Paddling Clinics:
Josh at Waterflow Paddling is offering a beginner clinic at the festival, information is below.
This year we are so proud to offer a range of courses for beginners at the Vancouver Whitewater Club Festival in Chilliwack, BC. We have two courses on both the Saturday and Sunday of the festival, operated by WaterFlow Paddlig Staff.
Here are the courses available by us at the festival:
"Where it all Begins" is exactly what you need to experience paddling for a newbie. We will develop basic skills in a boat and give you tools which will let you decide whether a hobbie on the water is right for you. If you want to learn the basics with some passionate people sign up. You won't regret it. Come and have fun in a boat with WaterFlow.
Safety:
Familiarize yourself with the Emergency Action Plan posted at the registration area. ALL PADDLERS MUST ATTEND THE SAFETY MEETING ON SATURDAY MORNING. If you have any concerns or questions, please ask. Remember that YOU are responsible for your safety at all times.
Raffle/Silent Auction:
Check out the Raffle and Silent Auction items donated by our sponsors next to the registration tent. Buy raffle tickets or place a bid on a silent auction item. Join the excitement and attend the live raffle drawing on Saturday night. All proceeds will go towards the club: training, pool sessions and other initiatives that benefit members and the paddling community.
Surrounding Area:
Chilliwack has all services, many are open all weekend. There are several banks with ATM’s on Vedder road (main road from the highway to the river) – in case you forgot money for the raffle or auction. You can also find a Wal-mart, Canadian Tire, several grocery stores, gas, etc. In other words, if you forget something, it can be found close by.
